Strange Times – Fear Reigns

by Stephen Xavier on January 28, 2010

We are living in times of great uncertainty and with this “perfect storm” of economic turmoil, political uncertainty -Washington, DC is a mess and lacks both leadership and direction – massive job loss, home foreclosures and businesses closing by the thousands, our “natural reaction” is fear.

During these times people tend to have one a three reactions; take action as a means to bring their world back into balance, hunker down and weather the storm as a means to at least survive it’s onslaught or, do nothing at all (denial) with the hope that it will all go away.

Since we are different people, and therefore react in the way best suited to our own individual wiring, there exists such a wide range of opinions, reactions and results out there as to how we will get through this crazy and very uncertain time in our nation and our world.

In my mind one things is certain; the words of Albert Einstein, “If we continue to do the same things we have always done and expect different results, that is the definition of insanity” ring so true for me. So until we cn figure out what will work, perhaps faith is what we must cling to until things change.

“Fear knocked at the door and faith answered…no one was there.”
